Lombok ( Mataram )

Where your destination, if you have the opportunity to visit the island of Lombok? If you do not have a definite goal, according to friends who live in the city of Mataram, with no time 2 (two) days to visit all the tourist areas in Lombok, of course minus the Rinjani mountain climbing or staying on the island of Gili Trawangan.
Below I will say a few areas worth a visit (although I have not had time to visit all of them), according to tourism brochure that I got from the hotel where I stayed:
1. Suranadi. Here is a complete hotel with a warm water swimming pool and tennis court. There is also the oldest Hindu temple, located 17 km if the ride vehicle from the city of Mataram.
2. Lingsar. Temple with a sacred fish in the pond, the location of 9 km with a rising drive from the city of Mataram.
3. Narmada. Botanical Garden Lombok, with a swimming pool, and a Hindu temple which the Hindus used to pray, location 12 km drive from the city of Mataram.

4. Batu Bolong. There is a temple on a rock jutting into the sea, and if the good weather could see Mount Agung on Bali island, and nice to see the sights at sunset. Location 8 km drive from the city of Mataram. To enter the area, then we must wear a yellow ribbon from the fabric (can be rented on location), which fitted around the waist. Here's beautiful scenery, the sea water filtered through the sidelines of a hollow rock, gemerosak noises. Unfortunately when I was here, the weather was still cloudy after the rain, but the view was beautiful. The sun peeked between the clouds, and the reflected light falling on the sea water.

5. Senggigi. Natural beach of clean white sand, surrounded by hotels, inns and bungalows. Very nice, especially if the time sunrise and sunset. Location 10 km drive from the city of Mataram. Many vendors on the beach souvenirs, a freshwater pearl cultivation colorful, ranging from the price of 25.000, - Also vendors and t-shirts that read Lombok Senggigi, Lombok and unique carvings in wood, can be a place of fruit, masks and others.
6. Sire Beach. Marine park in coral and exotic fish swimming around. Located 36 km drive from the city of Mataram.
7. Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan. Jade Island in the north Lombok, surrounded by marine park. Here a lot of people diving and surfing. On this island has many hotels and inns, so they can stay here, pristine beaches. To reach this location could use a motor boat.
8. Sukarare. The village where the weaving, this is where if you want to buy the traditional woven cloth Lombok, and see how the weavers to do the job. Location 25 km drive from the city of Mataram.
9. Rambitan / Sade. Native Village Lombok, the Sasak tribe traditional house, the location 50 km drive from the city of Mataram.
10. Kuta / Tanjung Aan. Mandalika beach with lights shining, where we can swim, there are hotels and restaurants. Every year there are celebrations catch / see Nyale fish, location 56 km drive from the city of Mataram.
11. Mataram. Mataram is the capital of West Nusa Tenggara province. While Ampenan an old port city (now moved to the sheet). City Ampenan typical ancient architecture, which when cleaned and cared for, will become the favored tourist destination. In the city of Mataram (which has become an integral part of the city and the city Ampenan Cakranegara) we can culinary tour, by eating foods characteristic of Lombok is spicy. In Jakarta we often see Taliwang restaurant, which turned out Taliwang is the name of a region, which was initially a lot of unique food vendors in this area Lombok. Lombok traditional foods, among others: Plecing watercress, chicken plecingan, julat chicken (spicy chicken marinade once), sambal beberok. Plecing turned out to be a cuisine that is known to be watercress dishes / cooking spices plecing, plecing cooked chicken (spicy chicken flavored, silenced, baked / fried, then given a more spicy flavor). Beberok sambal is sambal made from purple eggplant slices, red onion slices, sliced tomatoes and chilies, served with other foods of Lombok. Typical drink is coconut honey, the head of water composed of young, and young coconut in suwir-suwir and given ehhm ... honey ... sedaaap. To buy souvenirs typical Lombok woven fabrics, could be Cilinaya Shopping Center.
12. Cakranegara. It is a business city, there are agricultural markets, bird markets, and Mayura springs and temples Meru, the largest temple in Lombok. Cakranegara supposedly used to be the former empire, but the former kingdom (site) was unrecognizable. If you want to by-the food, it can buy fried chicken legs, salted eggs and a variety of sweets from the seaweed.
Note: The trip to the city of Mataram, can be taken by planes from Jakarta. Mileage if the 4-hour transit in Yogyakarta or Surabaya, but when the direct (Garuda flight from the airport the morning Selaparang) only to within 1 hour 33 minutes.
